It’s 2015 and The K.I.S.S. Arts Festival is back!

Welcome back to The Kiama International Seaside Arts Festival (or K.I.S.S.) for short.

The year has literally flown by and we find ourselves just around the corner from the fourth fantastic year of our festival.

As well as the usual favourites like The Ray White Street Theatre Program, The K.I.S.S. Circus Workshops, Shows at Kendalls Beach Caravan Park and The Open Air Cabarets, we have spent the year dreaming up more ways to excite, engage and entertain the people of Kiama and it’s visitors and are very excited to announce lots of new events!

We welcome 2 new venues to the fold.

The Kiama Leagues Club will host the friday night variety stand-up show from 8pm where all of the festival artists will be joined by a special gust stand-up comedian to bring you an evening of hilarity that you will not forget. The entertainment kicks off at 8pm so why not get there early, grab a bite to eat and a good spot and then settle back and enjoy a whole evening of FREE entertainment that you will not forget in a hurry!

Secondly, we would like to welcome Kabari who will be hosting the Saturday night, open air cabaret. Between 6pm & 8pm in the park next to Kabari, bring along and blanket and settle in for a feast of outdoor, family fun as the sun sets over Surf Beach. Food and Drinks will be available from Kabari and once again the entertainment is “pay what you think it’s worth at the end once you have seen the show”!

Opening night party!!!

On 8th Jan at 6.30 pm, why not pop along to the Old Fire Station on Terralong Street, enjoy a glass of celebration bubbly and help us launch the 2015 festival in style. There will be an exhibition of festival photos from the last 3 years, live entertainment, a couple of speeches and the winner of the busking competition will play for us too.

Chalk Pavement Art Workshops.

On Wednesday 7th & Thursday 8th Jan, in conjunction with The K.I.S.S. Arts Festival, Kiama Council will be holding 2 chalk drawing “Street Art” workshops in the build up to the Festival with K.I.S.S. Arts Festival Artist Ulla Taylor. Ulla is Australia’s foremost and most prolific chalk artist and this is a unique chance to come and learn some of the tricks of the trade. Ulla specializes in perspective challenging pieces that create magical 3D illusions when viewed from certain places. Discover how one creates art like this and much, much more. For information and to book a place in her workshop, contact Louise Croker at: louisec@kiama.nsw.gov.au
