It’s 2013 and The K.I.S.S. Arts Festival is back!

After the roller coaster ride that was last year’s Festival, Kiama is once again home to the coolest, funkiest and most accessible arts festival in NSW. Drawing on the success of last year’s highlights, the good people at K.I.S.S. have refined, reduced and concentrated the best of 2012 and plan to serve up a tantalising cocktail of everything that you loved from last year… and a little something new as well.

This year’s festival will have three main elements.

  1. Ray White Street Theatre – 4th, 5th & 6th Jan
  2. Circus workshops – 2nd – 15th Jan
  3. Open Air Cabaret – 4th, 5th & 6th Jan

1. Ray White Street Theatre

Continuing with their abiding passion to bring accessible, free entertainment to the Illawarra region, Dave and Tamara have decided not to put up the Big Top this year, instead they have teamed up with Ray White Kiama and will be offering a range of FREE shows in Hindmarsh Park on the 4th, 5th & 6th Jan in the hope that more people than ever will come down and enjoy what they hope will become a regular in the Kiama fixtures diary. Drawing on Local and International talent, they have secured acts from as close as Wollongong and Melbourne and as far as Canada and Kazador!?

Hindmarsh Park and will once again be filled with the sound of laughter and gasps as four of the funniest, kookiest and downright talented international street performers bring their eclectic mix of vaudeville, circus, clowning and comedy to the heart of Kiama on 4th, 5th & 6th Jan. Bring the family as everyone from baby to gramps, surly teenager to mums and dads and styling singles will love these FREE interactive shows, designed to amaze, amuse and as ever – attract huge crowds. There really will be something for everyone!

2. Circus Workshops

Now in their 3rd year, the most successful aspect of The K.I.S.S. Arts Festival is the circus workshops. Satisfying Kiama’s budding circus stars’ thirst for learning, the K.I.S.S. Arts Festival is offering 12 action packed days of circus workshops for kids and adults, 4 and up, designed to enthrall, inspire and exhaust. This year, due to popular demand, as well as the general workshops, we are offering a family and adult workshop day for the first time where everyone (mum, dad, the kids, even those that are just young at heart) will be able to come and learn together. We are also offering online booking for the first time and the best bit – the price! THE SAME AS 2010!

$50 per day from 10am – 3pm.

3. Open Air Cabaret

NEW!!! What could be better than watching comedy as the sun sets over the harbour or sitting back in a beer garden on a warm summers evening with a cool drink and watching 5 internationally acclaimed cabaret performers? Come down to the Sebel/Blue Diamond courtyard 4th & 5th Jan or up to The Jamberoo Pub on 6th Jan, bring a blanket and be entertained by The K.I.S.S. Arts open-air cabaret. Bringing you their stage sets the K.I.S.S. Arts performers will amaze, amuse and show you things that you just didn’t believe possible, as you soak up the atmosphere with a cool drink from the bar and maybe even a bite from the BBQ. Cabaret meets variety, meets circus meets stand-up, these evenings are guaranteed to be hilarious and very popular.

And the best bit… entry is free! The performers will be passing the hat though, so dig deep at the end.
