Night Lights

Sat 29th – 6pm

One River is a Centenary of Canberra Project. This is the local outcome in Bourke NSW on Sat 6 July 2013, created by local artist Andrew Hull. Ten local proejcts have occured throughout the Murray-Darling Basin and all these proejcts will travel to Canberra, the alrgest city in the Basin, in August 2013 as part of the celebrations of our nations centenary.

The KISS Arts Festival Night Lights event will turn the Kiama Harbour and Black Beach into a bustling water side entertainment village.

Imagine yourself snuggled close to your loved ones and friends, perched on the natural hillside ampitheatre of Kiama Harbour grasslands, with the beautiful pacific ocean sparkling under the light of an autumn moon. In the distance, on the harbor several maritime themed lanterns float on the water transforming the view into a magical light show.

In the foreground, between the grass and the water’s edge is the main stage, which hosts a program with some of the countries best comedians and circus comedy shows. You are laughing yourself stupid in collective joy with your community members.

You can wonder along the harbour front and walk and interact with some gorgeous and hilarious Talking Lampposts. Catch some music and have a drink in Café de Rude – you may even get a side of playful attitude with that. There will be some farmers market stalls to satisfy your taste buds and hunger pains and more entertainment options with further shows in La Petite Grande. Find your own circus talent at the Circus Drop Zone and have a go Aerial area.

With the gentle Kiama autumn weather allowing you to bring out your favourite jumper and beanie, throw them on, leave your belly empty to savour the delights, put some cash in your purse to donate to the performers and grab the kids or your mates and head on down for a magical harbourside night of entertainment, food and interactive fun.

Make your own lantern and bring them down to release at 6pm. For more information please contact 0422914713
